The unique thing about this book is that I assume the identity of my ancestor in all of his battles and prison misery. It was quite a challenge to match every detail that actually happened (dairies, letters, first-hand accounts) with a first person dramatized and riveting story of how I would have reacted in his situation.

Regarding your Jan. 11 meeting:Ross Hudgins, Nashville CWRT – “The Civil War of Nashville’s Maggie Vaulx, April, 1861-March, 1862”
I recently bought two portraits. The dealer said he had bought them some time ago from someone related to the Vaulx family but he was an older gentlemen and had no children. The dealer told me they were Joseph Vaulx and the wife was Maddie (Maggie?). But in my cursory genealogical research her name appears to be Eleanor.
Anyway, regarding this topic, I was wondering if the author could provide me with information about Maggie. I could provide him with pictures of the portraits.

Most sources list total dead for the Civil War as 646,392 when this is the total for only the North.The Confederate States of America suffered 335,534 deaths which make a total of American dead at 981,926.
These figures come from the USNEWS and WORLD REPORT of 2006.

Searching for Civil War Author John V. Brogden. Supposedly residing in the Nashville or Franklin, TN area. Mr. Brogden is supposedly worklin on a book concerning the 16th Tennessee Infantry &/or the Battle of Perryville, KY.
